Youth And Entrepreneurship

I was invited for a radio discussion on youth and entrepreneurship recently. It was quite an experience and an insightful one at that.
The program was interactive as well. Listeners were able to call into the program and ask questions. I would say 100% of the callers had issues with funding. The government was largely blamed for the problem. In as much as I would agree that the government has a huge role to play in setting up the right infrastructures in the area of loans/grant and making sure schools have the right curriculum that teaches on how students can acquire entrepreneurship skills. The individual has their own role to play as well. He or she has to be fully ready to assume the new role of being an entrepreneur.

It is very important to be clear on what business you want to start and how viable it is. Do you have a business plan?

When you do get the money required to start your business how do you intend to run the business? These are some of the things that need to be sorted before getting to the point of requesting for loans and grants. Anyone one within any given society has a major role to play in their own growth and development.

Start little with what you have and along the way people will definitely notice you and if what you are offering is promising , people will buy into it.

As an aspiring entrepreneur

1. Be clear on what you want to accomplish

2. Have a business plan

3. Make sure your business idea is tested for viability. A lot of new businesses fail within their first year.

4. Be business focused – Set up business goals and work with them.

5. Plan ahead of time on how to raise funds for your business.

6. make sacrifices where necessary to grow your business

Your destiny lies in your own hands don’t shift the blame take responsibility for your own success and be prepared to create an opportunity when you don’t see any.
Above all remain sincere and focused.

To your Success
