Your Business Online

Is your business on the web yet? If not, you could be missing out on thousands of potential customers. Over the last 20 years the Internet has developed into the easiest way for consumers to check out prices and shop around for services. If your business is not yet online, make getting a website your next goal.

Setting up Your Website

Start looking at websites in a different light. Browse the internet for other sites you like and make a note of the features which appeal. Think about whether you want a single page site, pointing people to your premises and explaining what you offer. Or, you might want a site with a shopping cart if you have products which you can sell online.

Selling Online

If you have a website it is ideal if you have something that you can sell online. If you sell products it is easy to work out what to put on your website – but remember that some things which sell well in a store don’t sell so well online and vice versa. If you offer services, is there a way that people could use your website to make a booking? Or could you find products which complement your service to offer online?

Online Promotion

Once you have set up your website you need to think of ways to draw people in. As well as selling products and services online, you might like to create one or two free items to attract people to your site. This could be a free e-book or e-course showcasing your expertise, or something for people to download. You might also want to swap links with complementary business and add your website to relevant directories

So, every business needs a website nowadays. Decide whether you want a simple brochure site or a site with a shopping cart. Think about whether you want to create the site yourself or get help to do it, and then start promoting your site.
