Hi Pamela,

This sure is a wonderful reminder to get back to journaling, which is quite similar to maintaining a personal diary that I did several years ago. I guess just the lack of time, family and kids, other work, and clients keep me from writing on a daily basis. But I love the points you mentioned, and most importantly, it does connect us to ourselves and gives an outlet to our thoughts.

Thanks for sharing :)

Pamela,
I have been journaling since 1989, and I'm on my 51st volume. Yeah, that's a lot of words. But it represents my life and the lives of my now grown children. What I've found that helps me the most with journaling is that as I write out what's burdening my heart, I am able to let it go. I use it as a prayer journal too, giving things to God which are too big and impossible for me to fix. What a tool it has been in my life. I could go on and on about the importance of doing this! Another added benefit - I tend to remember details more, since I not only lived them, but I wrote them down as well.
Thanks for this post - I loved it!
Blessings,
Debi

An incredible list, Pamela! Making excuses and allowing obstacles to stop us on our journey are always so easy to do, but a simple statement that's has continued through the ages confirms that something worth doing is not always going to be easy and it takes determination.

In my life I place #6 as #1 because our Heavenly Father is the only one who never fails...even when I do. I recently heard an instructor say she lives in a "lemonade world;" if she's given lemons, she finds a way to use them to make lemonade. I admire her and feel that such a positive view can help to alleviate some of the negative things that happen in our lives and allow us to move forward. Important to ask ourselves: Do we see the obstacle as a stumbling block or a stepping stone?

Great post. Thank you.
