An introduction to Business Promotion
Unless you are extremely lucky, you will fine that promoting your business is essential to seeing it grow and succeed. In this article we look at five areas to get your business promotion off to a great start.
1. Your Business Brand.
Get your branding right and it will make it much easier to promote your business. Work out what is unique about your business and think of the key words to convey this. Create a logo that represents what you offer, and a one line description of your business to use when promoting it.
2. Your Promotion Plan.
Make a plan that sets out all your promotional activities over the coming year. Include advertising, press releases, marketing and attending events. For each activity be clear who you are targeting and how you will reach them. Set targets for what you want your promotion to achieve.
3. Your Promotion Budget.
How much can you set aside to promote your business this year? If you know your budget in advance you can make sure that you can continue promoting your business all year through in a cost effective way. Remember to allow for your promotional costs into the cost of your product or service.
4. Your Business Advertising.
Focus on a small range of hey publications that your potential customers will read. Remember that a single advert alone will not make people buy: book a series of ads and back this up with other promotional activities targeting the same people.
5. Your Business Marketing.
Marketing includes direct mail, distributing flyers or an email campaign. Plan activities throughout the year to reach your target audience. Be clear about the actions you want to come from each marketing activity. Set targets and work out how you will tell if the campaign has worked.
